In December we welcomed a new winery to our range, Lunaria are an organic and biodynamic winery from the Abruzzo region of Italy. From their range we have a Pecorino and Montepulciano, both grown on the hills of Abruzzo using sustainable farming methods that work with the principles of Biodynamics. Lunaria pride themselves on the care they give their local environment and those who live in it, which extends to their activities with local community groups and charities.
The Lunaria Civitas Pecorino is an amazing example of the possibilities of this often over looked grape. Civitas is dry and mineral with a touch of nectarine coming through. It is straw-yellow in colour and has an elegantly floral bouquet of orange blossom and jasmine, with a faint hint of liquorice.
The Coste di Moro Montepulciano d’Abruzzo offers some of the best characters of an Italian red wine, it is full of soft juicy red fruit, pale cherry in colour with a crunchy red apple acidity and a well-structured tannin. The bouquet is fruity and soft with a hints of plum and violet.
